A convergence of styles, forms, and mediums led to the creation of our Digital Media wing. It began when, almost like some divine intervention, opportunities to work with screen elements kept presenting themselves — whether in the form of a trailer being required for our play, or a promotional photoshoot for social media, or a set of animated short films to be made for our friends over at CCF.
In true Parwana spirit, we found ourselves jumping into this fire with the same passion and fervour we carried in our theatre work. We’ve been straddling both the mediums for long enough to recognise that making plays AND films is what we want to do.
The other components of our artistic vision remain the same for Parwana Productions too — our lens is feminist and intersectional, we want everything that we create to respond to the world around us, and we will build each project with the same sense of excitement and experimentation…
